history of futsal week
As passionate futsal enthusiasts, just like you, we’ve been proudly organizing Futsal Week for over a decade. Our mission has always been to unite everyone who shares a love for the sport of futsal.
Our founders are Mićo Martić, Matija Đulvat, and Marko Šimurina. But our team had growth during the years, and you can see who is in our futsal story by clicking here.
Our story started in 2013 in Zadar, where we organized the 1st Futsal Week Tournament. It all started with U-16 Tournament with clubs Lika-Sport, Crnica, Arena, Kijevo Knin, and Futsal Zadar. Futsal Zadar won our 1st tournament.
In 2013th we had another Futsal Week Tournament, this time U-18, and club Farzandan Mehr from Iran won it.
1st adult tournament started in 2014 and Qatar won it. In 2015 we had three tournaments, and winners were MC Plus, Futsal Dinamo and FC Kemi. We began to support women futsal, with 1st competition of this kind, MC Plus won the tournament.
In 2016 we organized four tournaments, and the winner was Kijevo Knin, Futsal Dinamo, MC Plus and Kosovo.
We want to highlight 2017, where we had four national team tournaments! It was a big year for us. The winners were Netherlands, Finland, Slovakia, and Israel. This year, among national teams, we had these names: Montenegro, Switzerland, China, Hungary, Denmark, San Marino, and Belgium.
2018 was also an exciting year because we started something special. We began with U-19 National team tournaments. Our guests from Iraq won 1st tournament, and this year we had two adult national team tournaments – Hungary and Kuwait won it!
The 2019 year started with adult National team tournaments, Montenegro won Futsal Week for the 1st time in history. In the 2nd Futsal Week U-19 National team tournament, Slovakia was the best team among five teams (Hungary, Kosovo, Latvia, Poland, and Slovakia). We also had a solid Futsal Week Woman tournament – where Italy won among Croatia, Moldova, and Poland in Varaždin.
In the autumn, we also organized the Futsal Week tournament in which Belgium won against strong teams like Montenegro, Norway, Turkmenistan, Greenland, and Saudi Arabia.
As you can see, we are working hard to improve futsal, and you can also feel futsal like never before! Join us at Futsal Week, contact us here.
